Shane Co. to award $10,000 in college scholarships

College Scholarships will be awarded for the 2014 School Year.

Shane Co., the largest privately held jeweler in the United States is offering opportunities for promising students to showcase their passion for fashion through a scholarship program launching this month.

Intended for students with majors in business, design, jewelry, fashion or other creative fields, the scholarship will provide three gifted students with college tuition. Through the program, Shane Co. is hoping to identify students who are serious about their field of study, passionate about their degree, and strive to be at the top of their class.

We have always been committed to giving back to the community, particularly through education,said Tom Shane, CEO of Shane Co. This program builds on the foundation we have within collegiate sports sponsorships and demonstrates our passion to support students who wish to enter the jewelry industry.

Among the requirements for students who want to submit their application to the 2014 Shane Co. scholarship are a written essay of 500-800 words, and letters of recommendation from advisors, mentors, and/or former employers. In addition, student applicants must complete the Shane Co. scholarship application, and submit a copy of their transcript.

Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, a GED or high school degree, and must currently be enrolled (or be able to prove that they plan to enroll) at an accredited design school or university and write an essay.

The scholarships will be awarded for the 2014-2015 school year, and the deadline for submissions and applications is March 1, 2014. The ideal applicants will be a students who wants to make a difference by influencing the world with their creativity.

"Academic achievement and letters of recommendation will be the first criteria we review when determine the scholarship applicants,"said Rordan Shane, president of Shane Co. "This means applicants will need to present very well in their essays to help demonstrate why they should receive the scholarship. Creativity and originality will be an identifier for the frontrunners"

The first-place winner of the scholarship will receive $5,000, second place will win $3,000, and the third and final winner will win $2,000. Winners will be notified in April of 2014.

Shane Co. Opens Largest Jewelry Store in the Midwest

New St. Louis, MO-area location replaces previous store in Brentwood, MO.

DENVER, COLORADO – January 28, 2012– Shane Co., the largest privately-held jeweler in the United States, today announced that it has moved its St. Louis, MO-area store to a new location in the metro area, at 9643 Olive Blvd., Olivette, MO, 63132, between I-270 and I-170, east of Lindbergh. The new store opened for business on January 27, replacing the previous location in Brentwood, MO.

"We didn't just relocate. We built an entirely new jewelry store unlike any other,” said Tom Shane, owner of Shane Co. "This is the largest retailer jewelry store in the Midwest. We now have room to display many more of our exclusive bridal and fashion jewelry than was possible in our previous location.”

The jewelry was designed by Shane Co.'s own designers and is featured in Shane Co.'s holiday campaign.

The line consists of five collections of matching sterling silver jewelry. Each set includes a necklace, bracelet and earrings with either natural blue sodalite stones; natural green aventurine stones; natural red garnet stones; or natural black agate stones paired with either natural labradorite stones, or natural amethyst and charolite stones. All of these stones originate from various continents around the world, including South America, Asia, Africa and Europe.

"To create this exclusive, fashion-forward jewelry, we first sourced the stones, and then designed necklaces, bracelets and earrings that showcase the stones' beautiful, natural colors,” said Rordan Shane, Executive Vice President of Shane Co.

The results saw the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation gain 49% of the overall vote ($9,800 donation), Shriners Hospitals for Children achieve 41% ($8,200 donation), and National Disaster Search Dog Foundation obtain 10% of the overall vote ($2,000 donation). All contest participants were also entered to win one of five $500 Shane Co. gift cards and the lucky winners hail from New Jersey, Oregon, California, New York and Arizona.
